39th Jaguar National Rally
Geelong, Easter 2008
Yes, it all did happen to Geelong. On behalf of the National Rally Team I would like to thank all registrants and their guests for joining us in Geelong at Easter and helping make the Jaguar National Rally for 2008 such a great success.
Mike Daley
Our thanks to all who contributed and participated
I agree with Mike Daley that the 39th Jaguar National Rally was a big success judging by our observations and congratulations received. I would like to add my thanks to those given by Mike. There are many to thank as a National Rally involves many people and organisations. So here goes, these are the main ones:
-
Firstly to the Rally Management Team who did a superb job, including Geelong Register Members who embraced the Rally with enthusiasm, and many other JCCV Members who contributed.
-
Thanks to the City of Greater Geelong which designated the Rally a major event and were supportive all the way including allowing us to hold the Concours event on the central Geelong waterfront at no charge. This includes Geelong Otway Tourism which provided valuable information on local service providers and other support.
-
Thanks to our sponsors and advertisers who are listed on this website, we encourage you to use their services if possible. A particular thanks to Jaguar Australia which sponsored the Friday Cocktail Party and provided an XF for display and thanks to Rex Gorell Jaguar for looking after it.
-
Thanks to the Mercure Hotel Geelong which was central to the Rally for looking after us so well, particularly for the catering on Friday and Sunday evenings, and the excellent collaboration. Also to The Chifley which was our alternative hotel.
-
Thanks to the Ford Discovery Centre for providing the excellent venue for the Saturday Dinner Dance and to Scof Catering for supplying all the hardware and the excellent food.
-
Thanks to the Geelong Showground for having us there for the sporting event, sorry about the dust!
-
Thanks to the Royal Geelong Yacht Club for putting on the excellent Monday brunch and to the Geelong Club for opening the doors for us for lunch on Saturday.
-
Thanks to our guests Dorian Lapthorne (Jaguar Australia) and Mark Taubitz (Rex Gorell Jaguar) on Friday, John Goss and Bob Tilbury (Ford Motor Co.) on Saturday and Ian Cummins and Penny Woodley (UK) on Sunday.
And, most importantly, our thanks to all 240 of you who participated in the Rally and the 40 who went on the Post Rally Tour for whom we put on all the events and functions. For us your enjoyment made all the work very worthwhile.
Thats about it! We are close to finishing the Rally wrap up but now there is the post event report to do for the ACJC!
We look forward to catching up with all of you at the 2009 National Rally in Hobart.
With best wishes
